I am one of those rare people who actually prefer made for television movies over theatrical films. I love sweet, sappy, fun stories, and Hallmark movies are my favorites. I love watching the previews and eagerly anticipating getting to watch them on tv. Then I watch them over and over. From the first advertisement for Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I could tell it was going to a favorite. It combines quirky characters, a nostalgic set and costuming, a touch of mystery, and, of course, romance.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered follows the lives of four postal detectives who transform themselves into a team of detectives to track down intended recipients of undeliverable mail. Their missions take them out of the office where redirected letters and packages can save lives, solve crimes, reunite old loves and change futures by arriving late but somehow always on time.

This week’s episode was one of my favorites. The lead story was on a Down’s Syndrome couple wanting to get married. It was a sweet story with a touching ending. I especially enjoyed it because my daughter just got engaged. We’re in wedding planning mode, and this was a simple but very beautiful wedding.  My favorite part of the episode, though, was the secondary story about Rita Haywith (Crystal Lowe) competing in the Miss Special Delivery pageant. I always love makeover movies and episodes, and this one had a twist that I really appreciated. I loved the way  Norman Dorman (Geoff Gustafson) encouraged her by sharing about a obscure bug and she used that information to present a powerful, inspiring speech. We never did find out if she won, but I feel confident she did.

When we watched the pilot movie, I kept noticing Christian themes but had no idea that that the writers/producers were Christians. Now I find out that not only is the show written by Christians, but the American Bible Society has created a Bible study to go along with it. You can sign up for that here: http://www.americanbible.org/features/signed-sealed-delivered

If you’re looking for a Christian worldview television series that combines humor, romance, and mystery, then Signed, Sealed, Delivered is for you. Check it out Sundays at 7:00pm CST.

    1. I really like it. I’ve watched several of the episodes and especially like the beautiful set, fun fashions, and quirky characters. It’s not exactly reality-based, but sweet and fun.
