On December 8, 1990 a communications major with a desire to make movies married a schoolteacher with a passion for writing and directing drama. A decade later, we combined our unique talents and produced our first Mainstreet Productions feature film.
Since then we’ve produced seven narrative features, a historical documentary, and countless smaller projects. Our motion pictures have screened in theaters across the country, aired on countless television networks and sold across the globe. Two of our features, Providence and The Good Book, were told silent cinema style features. Providence was included in the AMC Independent lineup and screened at select AMC theaters including AMC Empire at Times Square.
Our filmmaking efforts have been recognized with dozens of accolades including the “Shibboleth Award” for Visionary Leadership in the Field of Christian Film Making” and four ICVM Crown Awards including Silver “Best Picture”.
I’m training up the next generation of filmmakers by sharing in film panels and teaching filmmaking workshops.
I’m excited to share with you Summer of ’67, our latest feature film.
Based on real-life events, Summer of ’67 brings to life the turbulent times of the sixties and the struggles faced by the men and women impacted by the Vietnam War. Young wife and mother Milly (Rachel Schrey) is forced to live with her mother-in-law (Mimi Sagadin) while her husband Gerald (Cameron Gilliam) is away on the USS Forrestal. Kate (Bethany Davenport) must choose between Peter (Christopher Dalton) her high school sweetheart and Van (Sam Brooks) her new hippie boyfriend. Ruby Mae (Sharonne Lanier) finally finds true love with Reggie (Jerrold Edwards) only to have him whisked away by the draft. Each woman faces the question of whether or not their man will return, and even if he does, will life as they know it ever be the same?
Summer of ’67 released theatrically June 29, 2018 and will be screening in one-night shows across the country through November.
