Are you as excited about the Overcomer release as I am? Yes, the Kendrick brothers’ newest movie releases this weekend. I got to see an early release, and trust me when I say you’re going to want to see this one.

Overcomer is the story of a high school basketball coach whose dreams are crushed when hundreds of families leave their town after a manufacturing plant shuts down. He’s not amused when he’s forced to coach a girls cross country team with only one runner.

The theme of Overcomer is identity. Who are we? What happens when we lose who we thought we were?

I’m especially excited about Overcomer because two of my friends are in leading roles. Beautiful Shari Rigby stars as the coach’s wife, and Cameron Arnett does an incredible job as a blind and bed-ridden patient in the hospital. Rounding out the cast are Priscilla Shirer and newcomer Aryn Wright-Thompson who both do fabulous jobs.

Make plans now to go see Overcomer this weekend! You’ll be glad you did.
