I Am Brave is the latest book in the Brave Girls series. I wasn’t familiar with the series until I got the review invitation, but I’m excited to discover it. I Am Brave is the kind of book I would have absolutely loved to have when I was a tween, and I look forward to sharing about it with young girls.

They say you can’t judge a book by its cover, but that’s not true. This cover immediately draws girls in with the bold pink swirls, fun cartoon drawings, and silver glitter. How can you not love that? Open the book up and the inside is just as attractive. The graphics are fun and age appropriate.

I Am Brave is a journal that includes daily devotions, thoughtful questions, and fun quizzes. So often, books like this are light on the Word and more concerned with pop culture. I didn’t find this to be the case with this series. Relevant scripture passages are interspersed throughout the book, bringing to life the words of the Bible and showing how they still pertain to today’s tweens.

I Am Brave would make a great gift for any young girl. With Christmas right around the corner, I would recommend stocking up for all the girls on your shopping list.
