I’ve always loved children’s books, and with a grandbaby on the way, it’s given me added incentive to keep up with the latest releases. Night Night Devotions by award-winning author Amy Parker is a devotional for the littlest ones.

Night Night Devotions has a nice, sturdy hardback cover with fun graphics that will appeal to both children and adults. It features 90 devotions that work their way chronologically through the Bible. Each devotion is based on a Bible verse, includes a conversational-style story that encourages the children not just to listen, but to interact, and closes with a simple prayer. It also includes a question for the child to ponder.

What I love about Night Night Devotions is how child friendly it is. So often, children’s books talk down to them or else they’re so silly parents can’t appreciate them. But Amy Parker obviously understands children and parents and speaks in a language that works for all ages. I can picture the conversations that each of the devotions could create. This is a companion to Night Night Bible Stories, so you could combine the two for even more spiritual study and discussion.
