IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to rising concerns of Covid and the safety of the speakers and attendees, the conference has been postponed to May 7, 2022.
I am so excited to share with you what I’ve been working on for almost two years now – The Women of Focus conference coming to Springfield Baptist Church, Springfield, Tennessee on September 18.
Women of Focus is an extraordinary new Christian women’s conference for the women of Middle Tennessee and beyond. Our 2021 theme is “Lighting the Darkness”. We’ll be covering how to find the Light in the midst of darkness and how to share the Light with a dark world. You’ll not want to miss this powerful day of teaching, worship, discussion, and prayer.
Our morning keynote speaker is Hollywood actress Nancy Stafford. Nancy is known to millions as Andy Griffith’s law partner on TV’s Matlock. She has been a series regular on six TV shows, including 5 years on Matlock, 3 years on the Emmy-winning St. Elsewhere, ABC’s Sidekicks, and the NBC daytime drama The Doctors. Her 25+ episodic roles include a recurring role in the final two seasons of ABC’s Scandal. She won Best Lead Actress in a Feature Film at the 2020 International Christian Film Festival, for her title role as FLOTUS in the theatrically released romantic comedy First Lady. Her film directing debut, Damaged Goods, in collaboration with Asbury University, will soon be released, and she is in pre-production on Grace, about a female frontier missionary set in the 1800s. Nancy is the author of two best-selling books published by Penguin Random House, The Wonder of His Love: A Journey into the Heart of God, and Beauty by the Book: Seeing Yourself as God Sees You.
Afternoon keynote speaker is Nashville author Kim Aldrich. Kim’s greatest passion is equipping women to drink in and pour out the truth and love of Jesus in relational ways. Her most recent book, DiscipleSips: Leaving a Jesus Legacy One Latte at a Time helps women overcome their fears and embrace the process of “friendship discipleship.” Kim lives with her comedian husband in Franklin, Tennessee, where she meets with millennials, juggles writing deadlines, and enjoys cinnamon dolce lattes whenever possible. She also travels wherever God leads, equipping women to obey The Great Commission…and have fun doing it! Kim has also co-written a book with her mentor, pastor’s wife Paula Russell: The Pastor Driven Wife: Stories of God’s Faithfulness from the Mundane to the Miraculous.
Worship will be led by the Grammy nominated band High Road, winner of the 2018 Singing News New Artist of the Year, the 2018 Diamond Award for Country Gospel Song of the Year, 2017 AGM Country Song of the Year, and the AGM Female Group of the Year award in 2016. They regularly perform at leading Gospel music events including the Gatlinburg Gathering, Singing In The Sun, Unspeakable Joy Women’s Events, and The National Quartet Convention. Members have appeared on the Grand Ole Opry, Gaither Homecoming Videos, as well as played with Jimmy Fortune (Statler Brothers), Vince Gill, Bradley Walker, Chris Young, Mark Wills, and Emily Ann Roberts from The Voice. In 2018, they played on the Grand Ole Opry stage in Nashville, and had their first two number 1 singles on Southern Gospel Radio. In 2019, they signed with Daywind Records and joined their artist roster, completing their newest self titled, album, High Road.
In addition to the keynotes and worship, the Women of Focus schedule includes a morning panel discussion on Finding the Light and an afternoon panel discussion on Sharing the Light. Each of these panelists has an incredible story of God’s guidance and deliverance in their lives.
