Last September I received a copy of the Horacio 2022 Dream Planner. When I opened the package and saw “The Best is Yet to Come” on the front cover, I literally laughed. I was not feeling particularly positive about the upcoming year. I’d just had three speaking engagements canceled, hadn’t heard back from the publisher I’d submitted my book proposal to, and couldn’t foresee anything to look forward to in the near future. I set the book aside, hoping that by the review deadline I’d be in better spirits and better able to appreciate the optimism of the Dream Planner.
I spent most of November planning for what I thought 2022 would look like. I planned out the entire year of podcast and radio episodes and figured since I obviously wasn’t going to ever have a published book, I’d make do with my blog. It was a good plan, but it was my plan and not God’s plan.
I can imagine God looking down on me laughing, saying, “My dear child, you have no idea what I have in store for you!” The week after I got the planner in the mail, I received an invitation to speak at a women’s event. In October I was invited to speak at a podcast conference. In December I was blessed with a publishing contract for Women of Prayer, a Bible study about women in the Bible. (Turns out, she’d actually sent the contract back in September, but I didn’t get it.) In January I heard from Moody radio that they were picking up my weekly radio show, and in February, they asked if I’d consider doing a daily show.
As 2022 has progressed, God has made it clear the direction he is leading me, at least for the time being. This last month’s series of Wicked Women is the last of the longer podcast episodes. April and May will be a Women in the Lineage of Jesus series, but the episodes will be the 2-minute radio length. Starting in June, I’ll be working my way through the Bible again, this time with daily 2-minute episodes. My goal is to cover every single woman mentioned in the Bible.
I’m excited about going daily. Though the length of each episode will be short, they’ll be extremely focused. For some women I may spend a week or more delving into the different aspects of their lives. For the more obscure, I’ll just have a single episode, but how fun it will be to introduce women who are usually overlooked.
For my blog, I’ll have the daily episodes set up in a devotional format. So, you’ll be able to enjoy a short lesson each morning or evening.
As you can imagine, it’s quite an undertaking to be writing a book and preparing for daily episodes, so I’ll be rather quiet for awhile. But know that I’ll be busy working behind the scenes, getting ready for everything coming up. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us! We’re going to dig both deep and wide and get to know God through each and every woman he included in the Bible. It’s going to be AMAZING!

It really is cool! I’ve enjoyed using it.
