Anne Wilson: Album Review

I’m bad about listening to the radio and not having a clue who the artists are who sing the songs. But a few weeks ago, a friend shared Anne Wilson’s music video for “Sunday Sermons”, and I realized she sang a lot of my favorite songs. I sent a message to my daughter telling her Anne Wilson was my new favorite artist.

Imagine my delight when right after that I got an invitation to participate in a campaign to promote her newest album. Yes, please!

Wednesday night Anne did a livestream concert to kick off her album. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Despite being extremely beautiful and talented, she comes across as very authentic. She’s not flashy or over-the-top. She’s just a small-town girl who loves Jesus and is sharing all about him through her music.

If you haven’t discovered her yet, you need to. The story of how God used a tragedy to work in her life is so touching.

Anne Wilson is the first female solo artist debut single to reach #1 on the Billboard Christian
Airplay chart. Her debut single “My Jesus” was the longest #1 single on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart of 2021, and she was featured as Billboard’s October 2021 Chartbreaker Artist in their 21 Under 21 issue.

“My Jesus” is packed with 15 songs – some rock, some ballads, lots of Jesus. You’re going to want to check it out. One of my favorites is “Mamas” with Hillary Scott. It’s a perfect song to share with your mama for Mother’s Day.

  1. I loved her “let my Jesus change your life” song! But I haven’t heard anything else yet, I don’t think. I’ll give her a listen!

    1. Lila, if you go to the “buy” link, you can hear snippets from each of the songs. Also, on her website is several of her music videos. They’re all great!
