When we told people we were driving from Nashville to Los Angeles for the Pan Pacific Film Festival, the general reaction was a shocked look followed by, “Why don’t you just fly?”
But life isn’t just about the destination. It’s also about the journey. Had we flown, we would have saved time, but we would have missed out on life experiences.
I’m a born and bred Southern girl. I know beaches, magnolias, and wrap around porches. This cross country trip has introduced me to deserts, mesas, and pueblo dwellings. I’ve always lived in the Bible belt where there’s a church on every corner and new ones popping up weekly. Now I’m in the wild west, and discovered God is here as well. Today we stumbled upon a three hundred year old church. Imagine, for over three centuries, worshippers in the land of outlaws and casinos have been meeting God in this same sacred building.
Today I’ve marvelled at the majesty of God’s handiwork. As I’ve observed miles and miles of vast lands, I’ve been awed by the thought of how small we are and how grand He is. Our God is an awesome God and I’m blessed by this opportunity to get a better glimpse into the magnitude of His glory.
I enjoy reading your posts. Thanks for sharing.Have a wonderful journey.
