Providence movie released in seven cities on Friday, February 12. As part of the release, we had Q and A sessions at each of the theaters. It was a whirlwind of a weekend to say the least. The movie is still showing, but we’re finally home and able to catch our breath long enough to share. So here you go!
Wednesday morning I spoke at the Atlanta Faith in Film breakfast where we were able to meet up with old friends and make new friends.

Actress Stacey Bradshaw arrived by train to NYC.Actor Rich Swingle and his lovely bride Joyce were excited to see that AMC Empire 25 put the Providence movie trailer right in the front lobby.Friday morning Fred and I headed to WPSM in Destin for an interview followied by speaking at Northwest Florida State College in nearby Niceville, Florida.Before the Friday evening showing we were able to meet up with friends and family. This is just a portion of them.College student Chance Byrd helped promote the movie in Destin. Matt and Grace Plunk promoted to the folks at Village Baptist Church where I attended as a teen and now Matt serves as their worship minister.
Friday night Rich Swingle, Stacey Bradshaw, Apolonia Davalos, Emily Knapp, and Jenn Gotzon held a Q and A session following the opening night screening at AMC Empire in NYC.NYC Movie Guru liked Providence!Oklahoma native actress Juli Tapken headed to Tulsa to lead a Q and A at the AMC Southroads theater on opening night.Actress Katie Pavao was able to return to her native California to reunite with family and friends at the Orange 30 theater for a Q and A.On Saturday we headed to Jacksonville, Florida where we were able to visit with family. Actors Lanny Smith and Brianna Hope Beaton joined us to do a Q and A session.Saturday the mayor of NYC issued a call for folks to stay inside due to the extreme cold temperatures, however, Rich, Emily, Stacey, Jenn, and Apolonia, along with a few other hardy souls braved the cold and came to a second Q and A session at the Empire.Meanwhile, in Orange, Katie led another Q and A session.On Sunday we made our way to AMC Barrett Commons in Atlanta where we were joined by Providence actresses Lee Ann Maloney, Melanie Ching, and Linda Ryan as well as other actor friends.Young actress Shelby Tsuhlares posed in front of the Atlanta theater on her way into the theater.
Monday night was another cold and rainy night but a number of Irene Santiago’s Charlotte friends were able to come to the screening and we met some new friends that we visited with long after the movie ended. This couple came based on the glowing review we got in the Charlotte Observer.
The movie will continue through tomorrow in NYC, Tulsa, Orange, Destin, Charlotte, and Jacksonville, and through next week in Atlanta.
