Vindication – Series Review

February 2020 I was sick and spent a couple of days lying in the recliner with no energy to do anything. Tired but bored, I searched Amazon Prime for something to watch and stumbled upon Vindication. I was familiar with it and had heard good things about it, so I thought it would be a pleasant way to pass my couch potato time.

I started with the first episode, and by the time my husband came home from work, I’d finished the entire first season. I then proceeded to introduce him to the show and watched the episodes again with him. By the time I’d watched each episode a second time, I was back to my old self, ready to get back to the land of the living. My only disappointment, though, was I had no more episodes of Vindication to watch.

I’ve followed along with anticipation as the team worked on Season 2, especially excited to have several of my friends involved in the cast (Candace Kirkpatrick, Cameron Arnett, Stacey Bradshaw, and Buddy Campbell). They launched the new season on Pure Flix this month, and I got so excited when I was invited to help promote the show.

As a filmmaker for almost a decade, and an entertainment blogger who’s watched more than my fair share of Christian movies and shows, I can honestly say that Vindication is at the top of the industry. It’s fast paced, well acted, tightly edited, incredibly written, and brilliantly executed. It’s a police drama filmed in the style of secular shows, except the main characters are Christians who must deal with their faith issues. It’s not preachy. It’s authentic. All faith elements are integral to the story with no tagged on sermons slowing down the story. The best thing about Vindication is how suspenseful it is and how each episode ends with a cliffhanger. It makes it very addictive and hard to watch just one episode at a time.

Season 2 episodes are dropping each week. I encourage you to binge watch Season 1 so you can get familiar with the storyline and characters, and then enjoy the new season.
