Women of Prayer Simulstudy: Day 6

Miriam grew up in a godly home and witnessed firsthand the amazing power of God. She’s the only Bible woman we follow through life from childhood to old age. We get to see Miriam at her spiritual height and at her spiritual low.

Miriam in Scripture

Read Numbers 12:1–16

Review

Are you naturally finding questions as you read Scripture? What questions did you come up with?

  1. Why did Miriam complain about Moses?
  2. How did God react to Miriam and Aaron’s complaints against Moses?
  3. What was God’s punishment for Miriam?
  4. How did the people react to Miriam’s punishment?

Memory Passage

Read Ephesians 4:29 aloud. How does it relate to Miriam’s story?

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

(Ephesians 4:29)

Prayer

Replace “your mouths” with “my mouth” and recite Ephesians 4:29 aloud as a prayer to God.
