Today we dig deeper into Miriam’s story studying her two interactions with God and the difference between the two.
Miriam in Scripture
Read Numbers 12:1–16 in at least one other Bible translation. As you read, make note of the cause-and-effect sequence between Miriam’s actions, her brothers’ reactions, and God’s actions.
Review
As we dig deeper into Miriam’s story, we look at questions that aren’t answered directly in the Bible but provide reflection to help better understand the situation.
- Why did God punish Miriam and not Aaron?
- Why was God angry with what Miriam had done?
- What was the difference between Miriam’s attitude and Moses’s attitude?

Every time you open the fridge, read aloud Ephesians 4:29 aloud.
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
