I don’t watch a lot of documentaries, and I’ve never had much of an interest in end times movies… until recently. Suddenly, it’s a lot more relevant. So when I was offered the opportunity to screen and review a new rapture documentary, I jumped at the chance.
Documentaries have come a long way from the dull and dry works from years past. Before the Wrath is not merely interviews with experts. It’s compelling storytelling and beautiful reenactments as well.
While scholars debate the timing of the Rapture, the world has lost why this event is prophesied to occur in the first place; knowledge that was once understood by those in the first century. Today, researchers in the Middle-East have rediscovered ancient anthropological evidence from the time of Christ that reveals exactly how and why the Rapture must occur; unveiling new biblical insight that will reignite hope for believers and prepare the world for what’s coming.
Before the Wrath focuses on Jesus comparing his return to a wedding and the importance of the bride being ready. These are verses we’re all familiar with, but the experts explain in depth what a Galilean wedding from that time was like so that we have new understanding of the significance of that illustration. I found the wedding process fascinating. It helped me to better understand not just the rapture, but Mary and Joseph’s story as well.
In addition to the historical study, Before the Wrath includes statistics and findings among modern Christians. I found those fascinating as well.
I don’t know that I found Before the Wrath quite as groundbreaking as the promise, but it definitely enhanced my understanding of the rapture. A number of times I found myself wanting to share little tidbits I learned, so I’m excited that I’ll be able to give away a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack to a lucky reader.
If you’re like me and searching for new understanding of the return of Christ, you’ll want to check out Before the Wrath.
