A few years ago I reviewed the Color Code Bible for Kids and was very impressed with it. Today I get to review the adult version of that Bible, the Color Code Study Bible.

Color Code Study Bible Review
The Color Code Study Bible cover is simple but attractive. I received the purple Leathersoft. It also comes in brown Leathersoft as well as a hardcover option.
The seven colors featured are God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, Salvation, Sanctification, Sin and Temptation, and Last Things.
Topical studies and book study sidebars are scattered throughout the Bible.
I’ll be honest. This is not one of my favorite Bibles. Though I liked the color coding in the children’s version, I don’t really get the color coding in this one. There aren’t a lot of highlighted verses–maybe one or two per page spread, and many pages don’t have any. And the verses that are highlighed don’t always make sense to me. Also, there’s a chapter in Jeremiah that literally has a heading of “Sin and Punishment”, and yet not a single verse is highlighted for Sin and Temptation.
The topical sections and the study the Bible sidebars, however, are interesting, and the footnotes are helpful.
I think if you ignore the color coding aspect, the Color Code Study Bible is a nice introductory study Bible. It’s got an easy-to-read font, good notes-to-text radio, and blank sidebars for notes. The concordance is better than average.
It comes in KJV, NKJV, and NIV, so you can choose your version of preference.
