Explorer Bible for Kids Book Review
Explorer Bible for Kids

Years ago when my daughter was young, I taught children’s church. I was always looking for resources to help bring the Bible to life for the children. I used the Children’s Ministry Study Bible, which was great, but I would have loved a really great Bible for the children to use. I would have loved to have had the Explorer Bible for Kids.

The Explorer Bible is a study Bible on a child’s level. It’s eye catching with lots of colorful images, but the images aren’t just pretty pictures. They’re captioned with interesting facts related to the Scripture.

Each book of the Bible commences with a page of information about the author, audience, world history at the time, location, motivation, and even how that book ties in with the story of Jesus. Interspersed throughout are character bios (in colorful sidebars), photos of the places mentioned, graphs, charts, timelines, and more. There’s even highlighted verses to aid in Scripture memorization. And the final touch is QR codes that take you to additional learning activities online.

I’ve reviewed many Bibles, and honestly, this is one of the most useful. While it’s obviously geared for children, it would be great for anyone interested in putting Scripture in context of history and geography and life application. I’m going to add it to my collection to use in my personal study. It’s that good!
