NKJV Study Bible For Kids: Bible Review

The NKJV Study Bible for Kids is an excellent resource to help children learn to study the Bible for themselves.

I’m amazed at all the Bible options available for children. Back in the day, I remember a simple Bible we all seemed to have that had a picture of Jesus and the little children on the cover. Then there was the Children’s Living Bible. Other than that, we had the same Bibles as adults. I still have the red leather KJV I received from my parents after I was baptized in second grade.

Bible Features

The NKJV Study Bible is one of many children’s Bibles available from Thomas Nelson and other Bible publishers.

The Bible comes in a variety of options including a sturdy hardback with an attractive geometric design on the cover, a softcover version with the same design, or blue or purpose Leathersoft. I have both the hardcover and the Leathersoft and love both.

Each book of the Bible opens with an introduction. These introductions make me think of VBS curriculum. The sections are Read It, Get It, Live It, and Find It. Read It gives a brief description of the book overall. Get It tells the author, dates, and why it was written. Live It are key concepts covered. And Find It is where to find the popular stories of interest to children.

Scattered throughout the Bible are timelines, maps, spotlight stories, personality profiles, word definitions, and helpful articles. At the back is a dictionary/concordance and articles index.

Bible Review

Back when I was children’s director teaching children’s church every week, I was always looking for helpful resources to help children understand the Bible. I would have loved to have had access to the NKJV Study Bible For Kids. I would have likely given it as a gift to the children.

Now, I have a granddaughter who may be a little young, but as soon as she’s old enough, I’ll be sharing this with her. I look forward to studying our Bibles together.
