What do you look for in a Bible? Do you find yourself searching aimlessly through Scripture trying to find guidance for modern day situations? If so, the CSB Life Counsel Bible may be just what you’re looking for.
The Life Counsel Bible is an everyday Bible geared for anyone seeking biblical answers to modern problems. Interspersed among the pages of Scripture are 150 articles by respected Christian counselors and scholars. Also included are over 100 word studies on words applicable to personal healing, growth, and counsel, book introductions, concordance, and topical Scriptural index.
Life Counsel Bible Articles
I checked out some of the articles. There seems to be a focus on sex-related issues. I counted ten articles just on homosexuality issues. Others were on porn, sex outside of marriage, abuse, adultery, abortion, and other related topics. Several seemed to overlap.
Are you single? Several articles are geared specifically to the single life.
- Caring for an Aging Parent
- Grieving a Suicide
- When Trouble Shows Up
- Chronic Pain
- Your Special Needs Child
- Preparing for Military Deployment
- Becoming a Widow
Pretty much, whatever you’re dealing with, this Bible addresses it. My personal favorite is Sabbath Rest.
Life Counsel Bible Review
The Life Counsel Bible is definitely a specialized Bible. While it includes study features like book introductions, concordance, and maps, the focus is on the articles. Each of these is an excerpt from a book. Though it appears they are strategically placed within related Scripture, not all are directly related to a specific passage. According to the Bible, the authors are respected counselors, but I wasn’t familiar with most of them.
I don’t know that this is a Bible I would personally use, but it would make a good gift for friends who are struggling and seeking wisdom but are unsure where to turn.
What do you think? Would you find this Bible helpful?
Great gift choice for family and friends struggling and seeking!
