Many years ago I led a children’s church ministry, teaching Bible lessons every Sunday. My greatest challenge was finding resources. Though there were Bibles geared for children, we didn’t have anywhere near the options we have now.
Parents nowadays can find Bibles for younger children, older children, preteens, and teens. They can find Bibles geared specifically for girls or boys. They can find a variety of translations and versions. Each one has a unique approach to helping children better understand the Bible.
The Armor of God Bible is based on Ephesians 6:10-18 with its principles of truth, righteousness, the Gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God.

Armor of God Bible Review
The Armor of God Bible is a beautiful Bible. I got it in grey Leathersoft, but it’s also available in purple Leathersoft, or a softcover or hardback version. It’s a nice Bible to take to church and to use for Bible study.
I can’t imagine, however, children using it to its full intention. The focus, of course, is on the armor of God, which is a rather deep concept for children to understand. Though it’s a cute visual, I don’t know that children are able to fully grasp the concepts.
In addition, because armor is related to battles, this Bible highlights all the battles in the Bible, both military and spiritual. The Bible can be quite graphic. Do we really want children focusing in on the gruesome details of military battles? Not to mention, the complexity of trying to figure out who was fighting who.
While the theory is good, I’m just not sure that it’s age-appropriate and that children are going to take this Bible and even be able to figure out how to use all the different features.
With all that said, however, I think that the Armor of God Bible could be a great resource for children’s leaders or parents to use alongside their children. They can pick and choose the features that work for them and tailor the study to the age or maturity level of the children.
