This June I’ll be teaching screenwriting at the Kentucky Christian Writer’s Conference. As a result, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Hannah R. Conway, the faculty chairman of the conference. We were recently chatting, and she mentioned the need for more reviews. I quickly volunteered to review Up in Smoke, and I’m so glad I did. What an amazing book!

upinsmoke fcUp in Smoke is the story of Leanna Wilson who returns home to assume custody of her sister after their paren’t death. While in the midst of a blazing custody battle, Leanna is torn between her ex-fiance and her high school sweetheart who broke her heart.

It took me a bit in the beginning to figure out exactly what was going on, but once I got drawn in, I couldn’t put the book down. Just when I thought I knew what would happen next, a new plot twist came along to turn me in a completely different direction. Each plot twist caught me by surprise, but was exactly the right thing to happen. By the end of the book, I was exhausted, but satisfied.

Hannah is a gifted writer who captures human nature and weaves in scriptural themes so expertly. She created a world that I could envision, characters I could relate to, and a story that I can’t forget. Now I can’t wait to read her other books.

Great news for anyone looking for a good romance to read for Valentine’s Day, Up in Smoke is available for FREE on Amazon Kindle Unlimited from now until February 15.
