Bible Review: The Jonathan Edwards Study Bible

The jonathan Edwards Study Bibole review

Some Bibles are pretty. Some are practical. Some have a unique slant. Some have a lot of features. The Jonathan Edwards Study Bible is all that and more.

I had just received my copy of The Jonathan Edwards Study Bible when my daughter and son-in-law came for a visit. He’s a preacher and noticed it on my end table as soon as he sat down. He took it out of the box, admired the leather cover, flipped through the pages, and asked if he could have it after I was done reviewing it. We’ll see. I may not want to give it up.

Bible Review

First, this is one of the prettiest Bibles I’ve reviewed. I got the brown Leathersoft cover with gold gilt edges and a beautiful embossed design on the spine. It’s so timeless and elegant. It also comes in hardcover and black leather.

I shared some of the features, but it has much more. One thing that’s really unique is that headings are in a soft blue color. Combined with Jesus’s words in red, and it makes for very easy reading.

There’s also pretty period style artwork that enhances the feel of being a timeless Bible.

Than there’s extras like the text from his “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” and “Heaven is a World of Love” sermons.

I’m not sure how they did it, but even though the pages are packed with footnotes and commentary, the text is still nice and readable. I can’t recall another Bible that squeezed so much information into such an easy-to-read, compact Bible.

All-in-all, The Jonathan Edwards Study Bible is possiby the most impressive study Bible I’ve found for pastors, Bible teachers, serious Bible scholars, or just anyone looking for a nice study Bible.
