Life Changing Encoungers

As you know, my passion is sharing stories from the Bible and showing how relevant they are to our modern day lives. Each of the stories is there for a reason and has something to teach us. I’m excited to share that my dear friend Sue Z McGray shares my love for Bible stories and has authored a book that features twenty-five stories of men and women in the Bible whose lives were changed when they encountered the Lord. Life Changing Encounters and Divine Appointments is a perfect book to kick off your Bible study for the new year.

Life Changing Encounters is an easy-to-read book that will get you excited about the difference God can make in your life. Each chapter focuses on a different individual and their encounter with the Lord. Sue opens the chapter by telling the story. She sets it up, points out the perspective of the characters, and tells what happened to them. Next, she provides a life application. Sometimes this is a personal story. Other times, stories of other people. Then she pulls it all together, providing us a life lesson to learn from. She closes with the scripture passages for us to read for ourselves and includes questions for us to ponder.

Honestly, Sue’s style is so similar to mine, that if you enjoy All God’s Women, you will love Life Changing Encounters. She has such an easy-going storytelling style, and she does a great job of drawing out the emotions the men and women were going through and showing the significance of each thing that happened to them.

If your New Year’s Resolutions include going deeper in your Bible study, I encourage you to grab a copy of Sue’s book and use it to kick start a unique study of encounters with God.
