The Everyday Bible review

The Everyday Bible is a lightweight NKJV Bible set up as 365 daily readings.

Have you ever tried to read through the Bible and got discouraged? Did you get bogged down in genealogy or trying to figure out how much to read each day? How did you break it up?

The Everyday Bible Features

The Everyday Bible is designed to make it easy to read through the Bible in one year. It uses a popular breakdown for reading through the Bible by reading a passage from the Old Testament, a passage from the New Testament, a passage from Psalms, and a passage from Proverbs. Only instead of just telling you what to read, it literally puts it together as daily readings.

So instead of opening with the book of Genesis, followed by Exodus, it opens with the readings for January 1: Genesis 1:1-2:25, Psalm 1:1-6, Proverbs 1:1-7, and Mathew 1:1-25. January 2 continues with Genesis 3-4, Psalms 2, Proverbs 1:8-9, and Matthew 2.

Though the order is nontraditional, The Everyday Bible is the complete NKJV Bible. Since it doesn’t include all the extras like study notes or footnotes, it’s a compact travel size.

The Everyday Bible comes in three bindings – softcover, hardcover, and Leathersoft. Of course, I picked the Leathersoft. It’s my favorite. All bindings feature easy to read font in Comfort Print.

The Everyday Bible Review

When I first perused the Bible and was trying to figure it out, I was reminded of a Bible study class years ago. I asked an older woman to read a passage from Proverbs. She hadn’t brought her own Bible, so she grabbed a Bible from a stack I had lying nearby, only she couldn’t find Proverbs. She was so confused that it wasn’t where she thought it should be and was seriously worried about her mental state. Then we noticed the Bible she’d grabbed was a chronological.

So she grabbed another Bible, and again, couldn’t find Proverbs. Lo and behold, it, too, was chronological.

Finally, she found a traditional Bible, and there was Proverbs where it was supposed to be.

That’s how it would be searching for a particular book or verse in The Everyday Bible. It would be difficult to say the least. However, it’s not designed for that.

The Everyday Bible is set up so that you can have it by your nightstand or your kitchen table, and you read your daily passage. For that purpose, it’s a excellent way to work your way through in a year. And since it’s so compact, it feels less intimidating.

It’s a very specialized Bible, but an excellent choice for anyone who’s wanting to read through the Bible in a year.
